Azure Storage Account Sensor

Azure Storage Account Sensor monitors Azure Storage Accounts service, using Azure Monitor metrics. Microsoft Azure Storage Accounts service allows to create a group of data management rules and apply them all at once to the data stored in the account: blobs, files, tables, and queues.

With this sensor, you can detect potential service problems (decrease in service Availability) or monitor cost-related service usage (increase in Capacity), you can also observe key parameters characterizing the operation of the service, including Success Server Latency, Egress Bytes, or Transactions. This sensor includes two default alerts one of which gives the opportunity to verify whether the service availability decreases below 99% and the other allows you to see a large change in capacity consumption.

Options

This sensor requires credentials for Azure subscription (Application (Client) ID, Tenant ID, and Client Secret Value).

Alerts

  • Used Capacity changed by > 20%
  • Service Availability < 100%

Performance Metrics

  • Storage Account\% Availability - The percentage of availability for the storage service or the specified API operation.
  • Storage Account\Egress Bytes - The amount of egress data.
  • Storage Account\Ingress Bytes - The amount of ingress data, in bytes.
  • Storage Account\Success E2E Latency - The average end-to-end latency of successful requests in milliseconds.
  • Storage Account\Success Server Latency - The average time used to process a successful request by Azure Storage.
  • Storage Account\Transactions - The number of requests made to a storage service or the specified API operation.
  • Storage Account\Used Capacity - The amount of storage used by the storage account in Bytes.

Reports (Data Collectors)

By default, the sensor adds a report containing Storage Account\Egress Bytes, Storage Account\Ingress Bytes, Storage Account\Success E2E Latency, Storage Account\Success Server Latency and Storage Account\Transactions charts. These metrics will be collected and available as a report or through Performance Trend Viewer
