Google Analytics Sensors

Google Analytics sensors allow monitoring of various metrics provided by the Analytics Reporting API.

Options

This sensor uses OAuth 2.0 to get access to your Google Analytics data.

An Analytics account is organized into several levels: accounts, properties, and reporting views. You must select Reporting View for the selected Property in the sensor configuration.

GA Users and Sessions sensor

This sensor allows monitoring metrics related to Users' activity.

Alerts
  • Possible Attack Alert - triggered when page views suddenly increase compared to a baseline
  • Alert on Performance Threshold - set threshold on available counter values
Performance Metrics
  • User\User Count - The number of users visiting the website
  • User\New Users - The number of sessions marked as a user's first sessions
  • User\Number of Sessions per User - The average number of user sessions
  • Session\Session Count - The total number of sessions
  • Session\% Bounce Rate - The percentage of single-page session views
  • Session\Avg. Session Duration (sec) - The average duration (in seconds) of user sessions
  • Page Tracking\Pageviews - The total number of pageviews for the property
  • Page Tracking\Pages per Session - The average number of pages viewed during a session
Reports (Data Collectors)

By default, the sensor adds a report containing User Count, Number of Sessions per User, Session Count, Avg. Session Duration, Pageviews, and Pages per Session charts.

GA Metrics sensor

This sensor allows monitoring of the selected reporting view's metrics.

  • Alert on Performance Threshold - set threshold on available counter values
Performance Metrics

You can collect any predefined metrics provided by the Analytics Reporting API. Custom-defined metrics are also available.

Options

You can choose Data Collection Mode. This option determines how the sensor processes the counter values.

  • Raw - raw values provided by Analytics
  • Difference - value calculated as the difference between the previous and current sample
  • Auto (default) - processing method selected on the basis of the type of metric
