NetApp SANtricity Sensor

This sensor allows monitoring of the overall health status and performance of NetApp storage using SANtricity REST API.

SANtricity is a data management software that powers and administers the NetApp E-Series ad and EF-Series storage arrays. The sensor collects various performance metrics and checks the current status of Storage Polls, Volumes, Controllers, Drives, and Workloads. The sensor also checks the overall system health status.

Options

SANtricity REST API is using HTTP basic authentication. You need to pass the username and password.

Alerts
  • Storage array is not optimal
  • Health check failed
  • Interface link status is other than Up
  • Host initiator is not active
  • Drive status is not optimal
  • Storage Pool status is not optimal
  • Controller status is not optimal
  • CPU Utilization is high
  • Drive endurance used > 70%
  • There are no hot spare drives, or some spare drive is used

Default alerts are defined for each instance of a given subassembly. You may configure your own alerts depending on your storage system specifications.

Reports (Data Collectors)

The sensor provides a large number of metrics, observing which allows for an accurate diagnosis of the storage system. By default, the sensor adds reports containing the most important metrics about Volumes (IOPS, transfer speed statistics, cache utilization), Drives (temperature, endurance used), Hot spare drives usage, and more.
