Auto Discovery
The primary NetCrunch goal is to keep all your network data up to date. This also includes network nodes and virtual machines.
Discovering Network Nodes
NetCrunch can periodically discover nodes in a given IP network. Go to IP Networks, select IP network view, and open PropertiesMonitoring to schedule a periodic network discovery. The minimum network discovery time is 1 hour.
Discovering Active Directory Containers
NetCrunch creates automatic folders with all known containers. To enable auto-scanning of the AD container, go to the given view and open PropertiesMonitoring and select Add Automatically checkbox. Discovered nodes can be automatically added to the Atlas, or they will be kept in the Task notification window so you can filter them manually.
Virtual Machines (ESXi)
As NetCrunch monitors ESXi virtual machine hosts, it can add newly discovered machines to Network Atlas automatically. The option is disabled by default - you can also add virtual machines from the ESXi VM machine list manually.
